As healthcare providers work toward planning our community’s healthcare future, what are the necessary transitions and innovations that will influence future facilities in providing healthcare and well care to our community?

Healthcare professionals want to prevent any potential legal actions as it relates to the excellent care they provide to their patients. This includes advanced practice providers (APPs), such as Nurse Practitioners who now face similar legal issues to those experienced by physicians and other medical providers.

The 2019 hurricane season has arrived, prompting all organizations to ask the question, “How would we recover from a catastrophic event?” The impacts of both Hurricanes Irma and Michael serve as examples of potential exposures, emphasizing the importance of disaster preparedness. Hurricane Michael caused the evacuation of more than 30 healthcare facilities due to physical damage and loss of power. 

In total, there have been at least 2,190 mass shootings since Sandy Hook in December 2012, with at least 2,463 killed and 9,163 wounded. The FBI defines a mass shooting as an incident in which 4 or more people, not including the suspect, are killed. And following all of these events, our police, healthcare workers and communities are left to pick-up the pieces.

The Centre for Neuro Skills (CNS), a leading provider of rehabilitation services for patients with traumatic and acquired brain injuries, needed an efficient way to monitor the frequency and duration of provider visits. The goal: to optimize provider-to-patient ratios and improve overall patient care.
